One thing we figured out on our first RV adventure

One thing we figured out on our first RV adventure was not to drive really far all at once. We limit our time on the road to 5 hours a day, broken up into two chunks, stopping at some sort of attraction in between.
And, as much as we like to stay at multiple spots during our trip, we will pick one place mid-trip to stay for 2 nights.

All this because Mike gets burned out on driving otherwise. You see, he does all the driving because I'm to nervous to drive a big rig (and with a family our size, it's gotta' be a big rig)

We're having a little family vacay this weekend, celebrating Father's Day. We've all tired of staying home and been itching for adventure. .
We considered a 5-day #rvrental, but planning last minute meant there were no campsites available (since Washington has limited capacity still). And we didn't want to dip too deep into our vacation fund since we're planning a big RV trip for later this summer.

So we settled for our next fav way to vacay ... Staying in a vacation rental. .
Our 2 day trip is satisfying our itch. We found a beautiful place on the Columbia River, with ability to paddle board right from the backyard. Making memories that will forever.

We usually get a Class C motorhome. We like to stay at different spots each night, so it's easier to hit the road again than a trailer. Plus, my kids like not being cramped in the car for our drive time.

I've been planning this year's RV adventure. Possibly Yellowstone. Maybe California. But, I'm dreaming. We usually don't take our trips until fall because my mother-in-law comes to visit us for the summer.

But this year, she's staying home because of #COVID.
And with all the kids' camps and activities canceled, we're all itching to hit the road sooner than later.
